The Playbillies
Broadway’s bluegrass band: your favorite show tunes, reimagined with banjo, fiddle, guitar and bass.
The story
Have y’all ever thought “Man, these show tunes are great but I just wish there were more banjo?” Neither have we. But we do share a particular affinity for two of America’s greatest traditions: Bluegrass and Broadway.
Formed in New York City in 2016, the band brings original, foot-stomping arrangements of songs from shows like Hello, Dolly!, Fiddler on the Roof, Chicago and Rent to theatres, concert halls and outdoor stages. Join us as we make sure every one of your favorite musicals on the Great White Way has a tune you can stomp yer’ boots to.
